Charity Organizations For Helping the Needy

0

In the United States of America, not everyone is interested in the business world. There are plenty of talented individuals that want to use their skills for a cause that’s greater than a profit. Charity organizations are dedicated towards helping people that are truly in need of various resources and services. Material and emotional support can be provided to needy individuals throughout the United States and the rest of the world.

Homelessness is a major problem throughout major cities in the United States. There are funds and organizations that are specifically dedicated to minimizing homelessness from the streets of big cities. Such a task can be accomplished by funding homeless shelters that can take in a significant amount of people off the streets. Such shelters often lack the proper funds from local governments. Therefore, homeless shelters may have to rely on the generosity of other individuals throughout America.

Poverty is another major cause that many charities in the United States focus on. It’s a shame to hear about children going hungry because their household income is very low. Fortunately, there are organizations that focus on feeding children and adults that live below the federal poverty level. Food pantry programs can give out monthly packages of non perishable food such as pasta, bread, canned vegetables, beverages and pastries. Additionally, hot kitchens may often be opened to invite poor children and their families to come in and enjoy delicious and nutritious meals. Charity organizations also combat poverty directly by engaging the local community through dialect on jobs and social issues. For example, a charity’s staff may be dedicated to finding employment for unemployed people living in poverty and receiving minimum government assistance.

The truth is that education is the only effective long term solution towards poverty. Charity organizations often open up community centers that provide complimentary services outside of a school classroom. Such centers can help poor kids do their homework, use the latest technology such as tablets and laptops, improve basic subject matter skills and have fun. Poverty can also be eliminated by offering kids in poor neighborhoods the chance to win scholarships and grants and go on to college. High school drop out rates in cities are high and such an issue is a top priority for funds that combat poverty and other social causes. For example, charity members may talk with children about the importance of staying in school and pursuing higher education even during difficult times. Richard e. Schaden is an example of charity founder that has helped countless individuals in America and other countries.

When it comes to the global stage, some charity organizations may also be able to help. Third world countries are in great need of basic necessities that are taken for granted in America. For example, clothing is in high demand in developing countries that simply have very few retailers and stores. Clothing donations are usually collected in America and then shipped out to various countries. Such donations can be collected at local community centers, schools, government offices and special drop boxes in neighborhoods. Third world country citizens can also receive essential medical supplies from charity organizations that focus on providing relief to people in need. Over the counter medical supplies are extremely useful in countries where such items are simply scarce for most.
