3 Benefits of Hormone Replacement Therapy

1

Many people are turning toward hormone therapy due to its many benefits and long lasting healthy effects on the human body. These hormone replacement therapy methods are mostly required as a person gets older, probably in their thirties or after that as well. People turn towards HRT because there must have been changes in his or her body and life that could be interfering with productivity, healthfulness, pleasure, vitality, and enjoyment. Hormone treatments are not just taken up by everyone, blood analysis is used to determine what will best suit for that specific individual.

Estrogen/testosterone therapy:
Women go for estrogen and progesterone hormone therapy. Mostly, men think about testosterone hormone replacement therapy to aid them in proper erectile function and improve their muscle tone. HRT also improves immunity and recovery, enhances cognitive abilities, stimulates production of thicker and fuller hair, enhances memory and concentration, improves sexual functioning, desire and also is known to lower cholesterol levels.

Menopause:
Women most of the times turn towards hormone therapy and treatment when they reach the stage of menopause. Many women who are at the menopausal stage of their life turn towards HRT to make their journey and menopause process easy. As the menopause stage approaches, the estrogen and progesterone levels drop. Estrogen and progesterone are hormones. What HRT does is that it tops up a woman’s level of essential hormones. Most women then take benefit from artificially boosting their hormone levels to reduce certain menopausal symptoms like weight gain, osteoporosis, increased fatigue, vaginal dryness etc. This is where HRT comes into action.
Transgender:
Although hormone therapy is a great initiative for men and women in their adult life, it has also come as a relief and a necessary process for transgender people in making their transition. Hormone therapy is essential to initiating the process of gender transition. In women, testosterone in lower levels and estrogen in higher levels are produced in the ovaries. Men, on the other hand, produce 10 times more testosterone. This testosterone can be converted into estrogen as the male needs it. When undergoing hormone therapy, these levels are adjusted according to the transitional demand. As men transition into women, they receive the hormone replacement therapy in the form of estrogen. Similarly, women transitioning into men are given testosterone, which decreases the size of breasts, widens shoulders, and stops the menstrual cycle. HRT is as beneficial to individuals who undergo a sex change as it is for male hormonal treatment.
Anti-aging benefits:
For some people HRT is a lot about the anti-aging benefits that you can get with it. The list of physiological enhancements talks about the inner working of the body like improved regeneration of new cells of skin, hair, muscles, nails, bones. All this along with improved lean muscle mass of a physically toned body and a lot more. Keep in mind that each of the main types of hormone replacement therapy that are used in adults has a particular purpose. It is not just a treatment that will help you age gracefully without putting your lives basic functions at rest. Detailed blood testing is what will show if any of these vital levels has declined in the body, and if you are in need of a hormone treatment or not, if so, which ones and to what extent.

Thanks for sharing. Hormones can have a larger effect on the body later in life than many people seem to realize. The effects on productivity and general mental well-being can interfere with one’s work life and relationships with others, so it’s important to look into HRT as a potential solution to these issues.
